Jim also supports the band at other events, including basketball games and bowl games. He is a Hurricane Club member, supporting both Hurricane athletics and the band program.

Barbara Saccocio Penkosky
Bachelor of Music in Music Therapy 1989/UM
Master of Science in Early Childhood Exceptional Student Education 1995/UM

Barbara graduated from the University of Miami with a degree in Music Therapy.  She went on to work for the United Cerebral Palsy School in Miami for 26 years, where she served as a music therapist.  Barbara helped hundreds of children get better with the use of music therapy.  Barbara wrote her own compositions targeted for use in the classroom.  She also used her guitar to sing to the students during music therapy sessions.  Barbara did whatever it took to make the children better. She was later promoted to principal of the school.  Barbara has shown her dedication to the band as a member of the Band of the Hour, following that up with 3-4 years of playing the flute in the Greater Miami Symphonic Band.

Jim and Barbara Penkosky first met on the marching band field at the University of Miami.  Both were active members of the BOTH and members of Gamma Epsilon, Tau Beta Sigma Honorary Band Sorority.
